Relaunching Defenestration Technologies

By Bill Daus · August 25, 2026

Back in 2010 I started a little app company called Defenestration Technologies. It has been quiet for a long time. As of today, it's back, this time as an independent game studio, and the developers are my kids.

The idea is simple: each of them designs a game they actually want to play, I give some light guidance on architecture and what an MVP looks like, and AI does the heavy lifting on the code. The results are real, playable, and in some cases already on the App Store.

Here's what's live:

  • Defenestration Technologies – the studio site, with every game in one place.
  • Reef Bloom – a calm coral reef you grow, tile by tile. No timers, no failure state, just a reef that gets richer the longer you tend it.
  • Dragon Perch – a dark mountain keep full of dragons. Hatch, breed, and train your brood, then take them down the mountain for turn-based battles.

The studio rules are the same ones I'd want as a player: no loot boxes, no forced ads, and nothing that needs an account to play. Go throw your window open and give them a try.
